Hate Watch
- Instances of hate speech against minorities jumped 74% in India in 2024, as Indians headed to the polls. 98.5% of those targeted were Muslims.1
- There was a 320% rise in rightwing terrorism globally between 2015 to 2020.2
Law and Order
- 1.7% of El Salvador’s entire population is behind bars, a result of President Nayib Bukele’s ‘anti-gangs’ crackdown.3
- 7,800 people with no criminal charges were detained by the US’s anti-immigration ICE force in June 2025 – an increase of 800% compared to January when 860 were detained.4
Conspiracy Machine
Great Replacement Theory: The belief that white Europeans are being deliberately replaced by non-white immigrants. A third of US citizens believe in some form of great replacement theory.*5
Cultural Marxism: The belief that left-wing elites are using academia and culture to destroy the Western ‘way of life’, aiming to replace traditional Christian and conservative values with liberal multiculturalism.
QAnon: Followers of this bizarre conspiracy believe that a satanic ‘deep state’ of child-trafficking global elites rule the world. Before Facebook tightened regulations in 2020, more than 4.5 million followed QAnon accounts.6
‘Love jihad’: an Islamophobic conspiracy theory promoted by far-right Hindutva activists in India, that claims Muslim men are ‘luring’ Hindu women into converting to Islam.
