Five HIV-positive Kenyan women are waiting to hear the outcome of a case against the Kenyan government and two international NGOs for forced sterilization.
The women were sterilized in different health facilities in Nairobi County through a procedure known as bilateral tubal ligation. The court petition states that some were coerced or threatened into having the procedure, while others had no knowledge it had been done.
