Suffering under decades of military occupation, Palestinians would be forgiven for overlooking their feathered and four-legged friends. But Khaled Safi is defying political tensions and cultural norms by opening the first vegan bakery in town – in Ramallah’s Jalazoun refugee camp.
Khaled was inspired to sell his Palestinian pastries with a difference by his brother Ahmad Safi, director of Palestinian Animal League (PAL).
