It’s is the opening night of a European tour for the Palestinian group Le Trio Joubran, a band of three brothers: Samir, Wissam and Adnan.
Their primary instrument is the oud – a traditional fretless lute made from the wood of the naturally fragrant aquilaria tree, and hollowed into a pear shape. The skill needed to create these instruments has been passed down through the Joubran family for generations. The ones they play in such perfect harmony tonight were crafted by Wissam and his father, Hatem.
