I have two daughters aged 12 and 15. They’re generally happy kids with a range of interests but I am concerned about the amount of time my eldest spends on social media and I’m worried the younger one will end up the same. From mood swings to lower self-esteem, I’ve noticed changes in her over the past year. I know it’s important for young people to keep in touch with their friends but I am concerned that social media is having a detrimental impact on her mental health. Am I being paranoid? Maybe this is just what teenage years are like? I know it’s impossible to stop them using social media, but how much is too much? Can I draw the line without them becoming social outcasts?
