Israel intensifies deportations of international activists from the West Bank, aiming to isolate Palestinians amid escalating settler violence, writes Bethany Rielly.
As settler violence against Palestinians intensifies in the West Bank, Israel is ramping up efforts to ban international activists from the region. Since 7 October 2023, 17 foreign activists have been deported by Israeli police.
One such activist is L, a young German who travelled to Palestine to join the International Solidarity Movement (ISM). Since 2002, the ISM has recruited foreign nationals to deter and document abuses by Israeli settlers and soldiers.
