One of the first rules of writing well in English is to avoid the passive voice. But the Western media takes great liberties in bending this rule when it comes to reporting on Israel’s war on Palestine. Where ‘Hamas terrorists’ and ‘Palestinian militants’ are explicitly named and blamed for murdering Israelis, Palestinians are seemingly just … killed. Killed by whom? Shot by whom? Bombed by whom?
