The Republic of Ireland will offer undocumented migrants living in the country a chance to regularize their legal status and eventually become citizens, in what is being hailed as a ‘potentially life-changing scheme’ by migrant rights groups.
The government has said that the move would help the thousands of people already ‘contributing to our society, enriching our culture and working in our economy’ who ‘live in the legal shadows’.
