Mushawa Ndolo is half-a-century old, yet he has never belonged to a country.
The Shona community has lived in Kenya since the early 1960s, but its members are not recognized as Kenyans. Ndolo’s parents were part of a group that came to the country from Zimbabwe as evangelists and missionaries of an indigenous African church and settled on the outskirts of Nairobi. Some later returned home, but others stayed.
