Documentary photographer Hilina Abebe, who took this photo as part of a series titled ‘The Faithful’, explains that the shot ‘embodies my reflection of Lalibela, a place considered as the holiest among Orthodox Christians, and spirituality and faith in the Ethiopian society’. Born and raised in Ethiopia, Hilina lives in Addis Ababa and her background in both journalism and social work influences her photography.
