Documentary photographer Mahshad Jalalian captured this portrait of a nomad girl in Razavi Khorasan province, Iran. ‘The nomads are travelling to find new pastures. They are mostly shepherds and sell the animal products in nearby cities,’ the photographer explained. Based in Iran, Mahshad has travelled through the wider region, recording aspects of culture, society and history. ‘After working for many years in the office of a large company, I decided to pursue my passion for capturing the reality and beauty of everyday life. I believe that documentary photography is a powerful way to inform, inspire, and improve the world.’
