Mina, an Oslo actor who struggles to get roles, is a single mother with a six-year-old son, Felix. She has a civil relationship with Felix’s dad, who looks after his son half the time, and a disastrous relationship with her mum, a peevish self-centred Pakistani matriarch, who’s ashamed of her daughter. Mina wants to live her own life, not the life her mother wants for her, but she’s lonely and unhappy.
