In some ways, this is an old-fashioned film. We have a steadfast, handsome, laconic hero, whose past is something of a mystery. He wears cowboy boots and Stetson hat, packs a handgun, and carries a Winchester. The cliffs punctuating the dusty, sun-beaten, flat landscape are no far cry from John Ford’s Monument Valley.
