Report from Greece
Greeks fear that the close of the summer tourist season may signal the end of free enjoyment of the nation’s beaches.
The austerity-ravaged government announced in April 2013 a plan to sell most of Greece’s coastline – the world’s 11th longest – to the highest bidder, to ‘release the potential for economic development’.
