The art of sewing is making a comeback. A mix of popular culture, austerity, human rights concerns and the internet have helped bring the pastime into the 21st century.
In the process, sewing has experienced an image revamp, going from twee to on-trend. Drab dress patterns are gone, replaced by hipster generation up-cycled fabrics and one-of-a-kinds.
