Ayesha Vellani snapped this haunting photo of the Mazar-e-Quaid, also known as Jinnah Mausoleum or the National Mausoleum, at Pakistan’s independence day celebrations in Karachi. Designed in a 1960s modernist style, this final resting place of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, known as the ‘Father of the Nation’, was completed in 1971. It is an iconic symbol of Karachi and one of the most popular tourist sites in the city.
