Women in Communist Europe enjoyed a higher rate of orgasm than their sisters in the capitalist West, according to the recently published Why Women Have Better Sex Under Socialism. Author Kristen R Ghodsee says satisfying trysts were a knock-on effect of a society that collectivized domestic labour, encouraged women’s independence and furnished a basic-needs safety net.
